Student Transition Education Programs (STEPs)

This program provides students with information about study and career opportunities as well as job seeking and employment skills to assist young people in the transition from school into further education and/or employment.  Our qualified and experienced facilitators will support students to develop a focus to their current education and future career and transition options through educative and exploratory workshops sessions.

Through classroom workshops, STEPs provides students will information and skills in:

  1. Careers and pathways options
  2. Interview skills
  3. Job search skills / employer expectations
  4. Resume writing / cover letters
  5. Preparing for work experience
  6. Career and industry exploration

The above six modules each cover 1.5 hours of program content.  Therefore the program can be delivered by Stride in the following ways:

  • Half day program covering 2 of the above modules.
  • Full day program covering 3 of the above modules.

About the training

Stride’s trained and experienced facilitators can provide the STEPs program directly to students within the school or as a professional development program for teachers and wellbeing staff.  Detailed resource material is provided for the continuation of the program and to reiterate learning outcomes.  STEPs is designed to be run at the secondary school level.
