The Applied Learning Awards, held at the quirky and vibrant LOEV in Keys Road, Moorabbin, marked a special milestone this year as we celebrated 15 years of recognising excellence in applied learning.
After 10 years without a live event, it was a true joy to finally come together and celebrate the achievements of students, educators, employers, and community supporters.
Led by our incredible MC, Cheryne Blom from Stride Education, who kept the night running smoothly, entertainment was provided by the incredibly talented George Paora, who wowed the audience by belting out some amazing songs.
Special Guest Speakers, Mark Watt, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Danny Schwarz, CEO of Playgroup Victoria, joined us to honour the outstanding contributions of those who support applied learning.
We also took a moment to recognise Mary Licciardo for her outstanding contribution to the careers and learning of young people. Mary’s unwavering dedication has made a lasting impact on the lives of many students, and we were thrilled to honour her for the difference she has made.
Additionally, we offered Honourable Mentions to several students who have shown exceptional promise and dedication:
- Bridie Murphy – Student – Learning and Personal Development Student of the Year
- Bridget Kumatse – Student – Learning and Personal Development Student of the Year
- Ruby Walsh – Student – VCE-VET Student of the Year
- William Douglas – Student – VCE-VM Vocational Major Student of the Year
- Asher Weinstein – Student – VCE-VM Vocational Major Student of the Year
The event was made possible by our ongoing Major Sponsors, Moorabbin Bentleigh Rotary Club, many who attended to assist with presentation of the awards.
